Hailing from Selangor, Simranjit Kaur is an Occupational Safety and Health student pursuing her Bachelor’s programme at Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences.

Currently, in her final semester, the enthusiastic young lady has prepared herself to take up the challenges of developing and maintaining safer and healthier workplaces for workers. She is certain that her profession will make a significant contribution to industry efficiency through the prevention of injury and occupational diseases and managing adverse environmental impacts.

Simran who dislikes fixed working hours and facing monitor screens all day while remaining in an office cubicle believes that the nature of a safety officer’s job suits her well. It provides an opportunity whereby she can constantly move around the workplace to ensure workers’ safety needs are met accordingly.

With a definite vision of establishing her own consulting firm by the age of 40, Simran is determined to give her best shot in achieving credibility and success. “The Occupational Health & Safety industry is seeing a rise in demand and portrays a promising and secured future. This is driven by the need for various industries to hire Safety and Health professionals”, said Simran.

Varsity life is incomplete without student clubs, societies and faculty activities. Having a driven personality and being highly energetic, Simran is an active participant in events that take place in her university and is the Vice Director of CUCMS’ Cultural Club. She also takes part in activities conducted by the Occupational Safety & Health Faculty.

Continuous support and encouragement from her family members is what drives her to keep moving forward. During leisure times, Simran enjoys bowling, traveling, shopping and playing pool. The key to her positivity is to always remain optimistic by learning to see the bigger picture in life. “Always dream big. Even if you don’t reach it, at least you’ll land somewhere close by. Challenges are inevitable and it is important to always be prepared to overcome it so one can become stronger and wiser”, she shared.
