    The CUCMS Library & Knowledge Management Centre was established in 2006 and specializes in the areas of General and Specialized Medicine, Pharmacy, Traditional and Complementary Medicine as well as Allied Health Sciences. To date, CUCMS Library holds a total collection more than 15,000 physical collection. In addition to printed collection, the CUCMS Library and Knowledge Centre also maintains a large collection of electronic journals and databases accessible via the Internet. Students of CUCMS would have the best both worlds when it comes to library and information resources support.

    Besides operating at the main campus in Cyberjaya, there are five (5) other Resource Centres located at various Government Hospitals in Putrajaya, Sepang, Terendak, Melaka, Seri Manjung, Perak and Banting, Selangor.

    The CUCMS Library and Knowledge Management Centre is using VIRTUA, an integrated library management system provided by VTLS. It is a web-based library system which records all titles in the library.Library holdings can be accessed through the WebOPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) via (www.sun.cybermed.edu.my), or from the University website at (www.cybermed.edu.my)

    Lost & Damage Item

    If an item borrowed by a patron is accidentally lost or damaged, the person will be charged for its replacement cost which consists of the:
    • Current price of the item
    • RM 30.00 of processing fee
    • Any outstanding fines/ over dues
    If an inter-library loan material from another library is lost/damaged, the patron will be billed by the lending library according to that library’s policies. Patrons should report lost materials immediately, so that their library privileges are not suspended.

    Renewal Service

    Items that you borrow can be renewedusing web OPAC by yourself once as long as there is no one reserved the item. Each renewal extends the due date by the same length of time as you originally borrowed the item. The renewal period starts on the day you renew an item, not the original date the item was due.

    We recommend you not wait until the last minute before trying to renew an item in case it can’t be renewed for any reason. You are responsible for any late fees if an item cannot be renewed and is returned late.

    Reservation

    You can reserve your book if the item is on loan by others free of charge by;

    Inter-Library Loan (ILL)

    Can’t find what you want? Try inter-library loan (ILL). ILL service allows you access to material which is not held in the library. ILL is a library service which supports the scholarly research and curriculum needs of current CUCMS academic staff and students. This service offered by CUCMS library and should be used when your needs cannot be met with the CUCMS library resources. Materials received via ILL is by permission of the lending library.

    Document Delivery Service (DDS)

    DDS provides students, academicians and researchers copies of articles from books, journals and other materials which are not available at the CUCMS Library. User need to complete the DDS Form and submit the request to the Circulation Counter. All current students, staff, faculty of the CUCMS can request materials via DDS.

    Printing & Photocopying

    Multifunctional device which can print, copy or scan are available at the Circulation counter. Photocopying service also provided to the user. Black & white or color photocopies are available.

    Information Literacy

    Information Literacy program or also known as Information Skills Class provided by CUCMS Library & Knowledge Management Centre is to give guidance to the user (new user most importantly) in identifying the real information they needed. This service is open for students, staff (academic and non-academic). Through this program, users are taught how to get accurate information from the reliable sources. This is to train user to be effective information seekers.

    Library Visit & Tour

    Discover more about our collections, services and facilities on a visit and tour of library area. The tour includes briefing from library staff about the library overview. Library visit and touris on the weekdays only from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm. Library visit and tours will take approximately 30 minutes and advance booking are recommended.

    Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)

    Online Public Access Catalogue

    The CUCMS Library and Knowledge Management Centre is using VIRTUA, an integrated library management system provided by VTLS. It is a web-based library system which records all titles in the Library. Users can use the Web Online Public Access Catalogue (Web OPAC) to search, browse, renew and even reserve library materials. Through our networking facilities, all information and online collections are easily accessed and effectively distributed to students and lecturers. User can accessed Web OPAC here.

    CUCMS Library has 200 seating capacity where students can use the seating area as their study area.

    Computer Lab

    User Guides

    Computing facilities in the library are managed by Information Technology (IT) department. There are 50 computers in the Computer Lab. All computers are primarily meant for the staff, students and faculty of CUCMS.

    Locker Room

    CUCMS Library has lockers available for user which is located next to the main entrance. There are 150 lockers available for user to put their belongings. RM 0.50 will be charged to use this facility (refundable). Upon inserting the amount needed, user can put their belongings in the locker and money will be returned once the locker is open.

    There is one Thesis room that may be booked for use during library opening hours. Those who want to use this room must first fill up the Room Reservation Form and submit to the Circulation Counter.

    Discussion Room

    Discussion Room 1&2

    There are 2 discussion rooms available in the library. Booking for its use is made by completing the Room Reservation Form and submit to the Circulation Counter. If you need complete peace to work, you can use this discussion rooms. The rooms are given on a first come, first served basis.

    Free wireless Internet access is available at CUCMS Library.User can obtain username and password from the library.

    Self check-out machine

    CUCMS Library has provided self check-out machine for user to borrow books on their own. Users are advised to follow the instructions available. However, if you experience any difficulty using the machine, please ask the library staff at the Circulation Counter for assistance.

    An online resource is any information source that the CUCMS Library provides access in an electronic format. The library has purchased subscriptions to various electronic information resources in order to provide you with access to them free of charge.

    The Circulation Policy was developed to facilitate maximum and equitable use of, and access to, the collections and facilities of the Library. Thus, the following general rules and regulations apply to all users entering the Main Campus Library as well as its Resource Centres.

    • The Circulation Policy was developed to facilitate maximum and equitable use of, and access to, the collections and facilities of the Library. Thus, the following general rules and regulations apply to all users entering the Main Campus Library as well as its Resource Centres.
    • Users should not enter, or remain in the Library when the Library is not open to the public.
    • The usage of cameras or any other recording equipment in the Library is not allowed without the permission of the Library Manager.
    • The usage of mobile phones in the Library is not allowed, and should be switched off.
    • Bags, umbrellas, etc. are not to be brought into the Library. All belongings are to be kept in the Locker Room located next to the Library main entrance.
    • Any disruptive behavior which disturbs or inconveniences other users is forbidden. Library staffs have the authority to ask anyone demonstrating such behavior to leave the Library.
    • Eating, drinking or smoking in the Library are strictly prohibited.
    • Users must not destroy or damage any of the collections available in the Library. Users found damaging or stealing materials/properties of the Library are liable to strict disciplinary action. The Library Manager has the right to report to the Senate Members, if users are found to have broken the law and library rules.
    • Users are to abstain from engaging in loud conversations. The Librarian on duty has the authority to ask any patron who causes disturbance to immediately leave the Library.
    • Users must not move, modify, tamper or misuse Library facilities. Anyone who is found to have damaged Library materials, or facilities of the Library, will be liable to pay the full replacement cost as well as handling charges and fines.
    • All users leaving the library must show all materials in possession to the library staff upon request.
    • Students’ matric cards are strictly non-transferable.
