Quality & Adherence
Providing a quality learning experiences is at the heart of what we do here at Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS). We are a private higher education institution registered with the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and is rated as a Tier 5 (Excellent) institution by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
Quality initiatives in CUCMS revolve around three principles of quality assurance – accountability, self-evaluation and external peer review (e.g. appointment of external examiners for major examinations and accreditation audits by MQA).
Quality Management and Enhancement Center (QuaMEC) was established in July 2013 and spearheaded the drive to ensure that the highest quality was achieved and maintained at all times.
The Center provides coordinating and facilitating roles in designing, implementing, managing, and assessing academic programs to meet quality standards; as well provision of techniques and tools to assist various academic programs and other units of CUCMS towards self-improvement.
The 2013 Rating System for Malaysian Higher Education Institutions (SETARA ’13) measures quality of teaching and learning at level six of the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (undergraduate level) in universities in Malaysia. CUCMS has achieved Ties 5 (Excellent), the highest ratings achieved by any Malaysian University this placing us on the top rank of Malaysian Universities.
The Discipline-Based Rating System (D-SETARA) measures quality of teaching and learning in specific academic disciplines in universities in Malaysia. The rating instrument covers three generic domains of input, process and output to assess the quality of teaching and learning. The input domain addresses talent, resources and governance. The process domain focuses on curriculum matters and the output domain is on the quality of graduates and graduate satisfaction. CUCMS is ranked Tier 4, along with all of our competitor institutions in the discipline of medical, pharmacy and dentistry.
ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems
ISO 9001: 2008 is an international standard related to quality management systems and is based on eight quality management principles such as customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, systems approach, process approach, and continual improvements among others. CUCMS has been awarded an ISO 9001:2008 certification by SIRIM in recognition of our commitment to quality.
