Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS)’s OSH Club held its first Masquerade themed Dinner at the Kinrara Resort, Puchong. The event took place on 11th October and celebrated and promoted the students at the faculty of Safety & Health. More than 100 students and faculty members attended the dinner.
Guests were entertained by four performance by the talented students from the faculty of Safety & Health. The lively evening featured students dressed in their Sunday best, donning colourful masks. Faculty members also sported traditional masks for the evening.
“This dinner is one of many activities that our club hosts to showcase the OSH club on campus and in the greater community,” said Hasliza binti Hanafi the President of the OSH Club, and a first-year student of the Bachelor in Occupational Safety & Health programme.
“I am happy to be part of OSH club because I think it’s important for me to collaborate with students in my course outside of the classroom,” said Muhammad Arief Bin Mohd Freddy Sany vice president for the OSH Club and second-year degree student in the Faculty of Safety and Health.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of Dean’s List awards to 40 deserving students who have shown significant academic achievement. Eight of the award recipients were from the Diploma programme while the remaining 32 students were from the Bachelor’s programme.
The student club has successfully run many events in the past such as the RUSH marathon and the July Fest that featured live music, fun games and a haunted house.
“Created in 2007, the OSH club has been committed to creating a vibrant student community, embracing all cultures and all walks of life,” said Assistant Professor Rosli Abdul Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Safety and Health. “Our members energize the club immensely and help us do the things we do with passion and enthusiasm.”
