About the Faculty

The Faculty of Traditional and Complementary Medicine was established in 2010 in support of the Ministry of Health’s efforts to integrate traditional and complementary medicine into the Malaysian national health system. The Faculty is the first in Malaysia to offer a fully accredited Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine Science (Hons) [BHMS (Hons.)] which is in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Malaysian Homeopathy Council (MPHM).

The Faculty leverages on its extensive collaboration with international partner institutions to provide best in complementary health education to its students. The Faculty has adopted a holistic and integrated approach to education and to healthcare.

In future any individual who intends to practice in any recognized practice area is required to register with the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Council. In anticipation of the full implementation of the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Act 2013 which was gazetted on 8 February 2013, the Faculty aims to provide registered and accredited education to complementary medical science practitioners.

About the Dean

Asst. Prof. Ibrahim Usman Mhaisker, M.D. (H0m.)

The Faculty is led by Asst. Prof. Ibrahim Usman Mhaisker who is the second dean of Faculty of Traditional and Complementary Medicine (CUCMS). He received his master’s degree, Doctor of Medicine in Homeopathy [M.D. (Hom.)] from B. A. Marathwada University, Aurangabad (India) in the year 2003. An expert in the field of homeopathy medicine, he has been working extensively as an academician, homeopathy practitioner and researcher.
