About the Faculty
As a fast paced developing nation, Malaysia continues to see significant infrastructure and industrial growth thus paving the need for Occupational Safety & Health professionals. The Faculty consist of a multidisciplinary team of lecturers and industry experts providing health and safety education.
From risk management, hazardous substance management to hygiene and pollution control, the faculty addresses a wide range of industrial issues and helps to ensure its students are provided with the best knowledge and skills to manage all situations.
The Faculty has built strong industry connections to ensure its students are exposed only the latest in industrial best practices. Currently the OSH programmes are delivered under the diploma, degree and master’s level.
About the Dean
Professor Dr Mohamad Khan
Professor Khan is an expert in occupational health and safety management. He was appointed Dean of the Faculty since its formation in 2010. Professor Khan has an extensive record in the OSH management including designing of the curriculum for Occupational Health and Safety programmes for several public and private universities in Malaysia.
He has taught various courses in Occupational Safety and Health, Human Resource Management, and Research Methodology at postgraduate and undergraduate levels, and has supervised several PhD and Master’s candidates in Safety and Health Management programmes. He is on the panel of Institutional Auditors for the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
As of date Professor Khan has published more than 50 journal articles, and presented papers and reports on occupational safety and health issues and programmes at international and national levels. Due to his excellent service, Professor Khan was given several awards during his tenure as an academic.
